Overview of Basic Motorcycle Knowledge:
I. Overview of Construction:
The motorcycle, this flexible and mobile means of transportation, is mainly composed of five systems: the engine, the transmission, the movement, the steering, and the braking, as well as electrical instrument equipment. Each part plays a crucial role in the operation of the motorcycle.
II. Vehicle Model Diversity:
The world of motorcycles is diverse and splendid, ranging from two-wheelers to four-wheelers, each having its own unique charm.
Two-wheel motorcycles cover a wide range of types, such as street bikes, sports bikes, cruisers, scooters, retro bikes, rally bikes, touring bikes, off-road bikes, and folding bikes.
Three-wheel motorcycles include side three-wheelers, front three-wheelers, and rear three-wheelers; four-wheel motorcycles are more commonly seen in entertainment and competition settings, with off-road activities being the main focus.
Motorcycles, with their characteristics of being lightweight, flexible, and capable of fast travel, are widely used in areas such as patrol duties, passenger and cargo transportation, and sports activities.
III. Carburetor and Displacement:
The carburetor, this seemingly complex component, actually operates based on the basic principle of atmospheric pressure. Adjusting the atmospheric pressure within the engine and the carburetor enables the flow of fuel and air.
The engine displacement, as an important indicator for measuring the power performance of motorcycles, ranges from small displacements of less than 125CC to large displacements of over 1000CC for commercial vehicles. Different displacement levels correspond to different usage scenarios and power requirements.
IV. Engine and Transmission:
The engine layout of motorcycles varies greatly, including inline, V-shaped, and horizontally opposed configurations. The cooling methods also include air-cooling, water-cooling, and oil-cooling, among others. The transmission system transmits the engine's power to the wheels through components such as the primary reduction, clutch, and secondary reduction.
V. Walking and Braking:
The walking system bears the weight of the vehicle and provides stable control and a comfortable riding experience. The steering system controls the direction of the motorcycle through the handlebars. The braking system, which is an important guarantee for the safe operation of the motorcycle, is divided into front wheel braking and rear wheel braking. It is achieved by gripping the brake lever with your hand or pressing the brake pedal with your foot.
VI. Electrical Instruments:
The electrical system of a motorcycle is similar to that of a car, including components such as power supply, ignition, lighting, instruments, and audio systems. The power supply part usually consists of an alternator, a rectifier, and a battery, which provide a stable power supply for all the electrical equipment of the motorcycle.
