Honda President Mr. Mibu: “No Decision Yet”, “From Top To Bottom, I Think It's Possible”, Doesn't Deny “Business Merger” With Nissan

Mr. Mitsubishi, Honda's president, didn't rule out the possibility of a business merger with Nissan but said "no decision has been made yet."

According to people familiar with the matter, Honda and Nissan intend to hold talks on business integration, including the creation of a holding company that would bring both companies under one umbrella. In the future, Mitsubishi Motors Corp, Nissan's largest shareholder, will also consider joining.

After the merger, the three companies will become one of the world's top three automaker groups, with sales of more than 8 million vehicles. Honda and Nissan announced in August that they would collaborate on software development and electric vehicle production.
