Japan Airlines (JA) has announced that it is experiencing problems with its systems nationwide due to a cyber attack. New ticket sales will be canceled throughout the day today. This is a live report from Haneda Airport.

Many worried passengers can be seen in the domestic departure hall of Haneda Airport's Terminal

According to Japan Airlines, a cyberattack on JAL's network equipment occurred around 7:30 a.m. today, and system failures are continuing nationwide.

As of 10 a.m., at least 14 domestic flights, including flights from Haneda to Naha and Kushiro airports, have been delayed for up to an hour.

In addition, baggage could not be checked in at check-in counters, and flights are expected to be further affected in the future.

Guests returning home:
I'm worried because I'm with my kids an,d I learned about this on the news on the way here. I wish we could have gotten on the plane, but I think I'm going to check in now and check the time every time".

In addition, due to the cyberattack, JAL will suspend new ticket sales for domestic and international flights throughout the day today, which may affect those traveling home or on business as it nears the end of the year, New Year's holidays, and the end of the work year.

According to investigators, JAL is negotiating with the Police Department over the damage caused by the cyber attack.
