Some basic knowledge of wheels:

 

The structure of the wheel includes spokes (the part of the wheel that supports the wheel rim and is connected to the axle), offset (the distance between the center surface of the wheel rim and the spoke mounting surface, with positive, zero, and negative offsets), and bead seat (the part of the wheel rim that contacts the tire rim and supports the radial direction of the tire).

 

Classification of wheel: According to the material, wheel hubs can be divided into steel wheels and alloy wheels. Steel wheels are economical and durable, but their appearance is not aesthetically pleasing; they are heavy, have high inertia resistance, poor heat dissipation, and are very prone to rusting.

 

Alloy wheels are lightweight, have low inertia resistance, high manufacturing accuracy, small deformation during high-speed rotation, and low inertia resistance, which is beneficial for improving the straight-line driving performance of cars, reducing tire rolling resistance, and thus reducing fuel consumption.

 

Maintenance and replacement of the wheel: When the temperature of the wheel is high, it should be allowed to cool naturally before cleaning. Never clean with cold water. In addition, cleaning aluminum alloy wheels with cleaning agents at high temperatures can cause chemical reactions on the surface of the wheels, resulting in loss of luster and affecting their appearance. When the wheel hub is stained with difficult-to-remove asphalt, if general cleaning agents are not used, try to use a brush to remove it, but do not use a hard brush, especially an iron brush, to avoid damaging the surface of the wheel hub.

 

Other types of wheels include brushed wheels, electroplated wheels, forged wheels, and carbon fiber wheels. The brushed wheel hub has a distinct personality, a strong appearance impact, and a more obvious three-dimensional effect. Electroplated wheel rims have a beautiful appearance, enhancing the quality and high-end feel of the car. They maintain their color for a long time (pure electroplating) and have strong anti-corrosion and sun resistance capabilities.

 

Forged wheels are not constrained by molds and have high design freedom, resulting in a wide variety of wheel hub appearances and a strong sense of individuality and dynamism. Carbon fiber wheels have high strength and rigidity, strong tensile strength, light weight, and outstanding visual effects.
