The New York Times cited people familiar with the matter as saying that the U.S. Department of Commerce has suspended the export of products and technologies related to the development of the C919 aircraft to COMAC by some U.S. companies. In addition to aviation technology, the New York Times said that the U.S. government has also suspended the export of semiconductors, certain chemicals, and machinery-related technologies to China.

"In some cases, the Department of Commerce has suspended existing export licenses or added additional licensing requirements during the review," the Commerce Department said in a statement to Reuters.

A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the United States told Reuters that China firmly opposes the U.S. abuse of the concept of national security, abuse of export control measures, and malicious blockade and suppression of China.
